Presented by DHP Family, Beat The Streets brings together the local Nottingham community each January by curating a line up full of breaking acts, local heroes and chart-topping sensations. With homelessness in our city reaching crisis point, we are using our event promotion expertise and venue portfolio to bring the community together and tackle this issue by raising life changing funds to support people in need. The impact so far has been phenomenal, both in fund and awareness raising for an important issue.
Homelessness in Nottingham has reached crisis point in recent years and we have all seen the increased numbers of people sleeping rough in the city centre.
There are myriad reasons why someone could become homeless, many people in the UK are often only one unexpected financial set back away from hardship, and this could be anything from housing market pressures, relationship breakdowns and domestic violence, health issues, losing a job or even facing an unexpected bill.
Mental health issues and addiction issues can also play a part in someone becoming homeless but it is often a common misconception that all rough sleeping is linked to drugs or alcohol.
The issue of homelessness also stretches far beyond rough sleeping, with people living out of vehicles or hostels, sofa-surfing or staying at friends houses in need of support, while there are also a number of "hidden homeless" who aren't counted in official stats but are still vulnerable and at risk.
According to Shelter, at least 382,000 people are homeless in England as of the end of 2025. There has never been a more important time to get behind this cause.
Beat The Streets brings people from all over Nottingham together. From the staff at DHP Family who organise the event, to the incredibly talented artists who volunteer their time to perform, and the attendees who spend the day donating to the cause with their ticket and their bar spend!
We believe in the power of the community and the importance of people coming together in such a way to make a difference. If you feel the same and want to be part of something bigger with us, you know what to do...
Beat The Streets provides a unique method of fundraising.
From its inception, the festival has been grounded in the event knowledge and experience across the DHP team, utilising DHP's established venues and their bars as a vehicle for raising funds, and leaning on local creatives to build enticing line-ups that will attract Nottingham gig-goers for a good day out.
It's charity work beyond sponsored 30 day challenges, sleep outs and half marathons (though the team do partake in those, too!).
As we grow the festival, we want to explore what other local businesses have in their locker. If you have an idea that could be folded into this novel way of fundraising, a venue space that could join the roster, or any other creative suggestions to build on a solid foundation, it could be a perfect partnership.
Across our events, we've welcomed more than 15,000 people through the Beat The Streets doors.
Our audience is made up of live music loving people who care about Nottingham, the local music scene, giving back charitably, and supporting artists and businesses who share those values.
Partnering with Beat The Streets is an opportunity to plant your flag in the ground as a business who supports the arts, the grassroots music sector, and above all else - helping the homeless.
However you choose to get involved, you'll be able to wear your support for BTS and Framework as a badge of honour when connecting with these audiences (literally, you can buy a pin badge from many outlets in the city!) and we'll celebrate you too, with logos on our website and the potential for social media/email shout outs for the most generous!
