Accessibility

Below you will find access information for each of the individual venues at Beat The Streets Festival.

Customers with access requirements who require a personal assistant are entitled to a free ticket. Please book a standard entry tickets via alt. tickets and then email proof of eligibility along with your order reference number to access@alttickets.com. Any of the below are accepted, in addition we will review an application without these forms on a case-by-case basis.

  • Front page of DLA / PIP
  • Front page of Attendance Allowance letter
  • Evidence that registered severely sight impaired
  • Recognised Assistance Dog ID card

Rock City has a flight of stairs on entrance and there are further steps into Beta and two flights of stairs into the main room.

Due to the current layout of Rock City and the age of the building there is unfortunately limited disabled access and they are currently unable to accept motorised wheelchairs. If you would like to talk to someone further about specifics for the venue please call them on 0115 950 6547 and they will endeavor to answer all your queries.

Ramp Access is available via the entrance on Talbot Street, next to Rock City. There is level access throughout the ground floor (including access to the main venue room) and an accessible toilet (Radar Key operated). Please note, the Red Room and Balcony are on the first floor. Venue security teams are not able to assist in transporting people in wheelchairs upstairs to the first floor, however if you can make your own way up to the first floor, or with the assistance of your Personal Assistant, security can assist with carrying wheelchairs upstairs.

The venue has two viewing areas, one situated at the front of the venue directly in front of the stage and the other is on the first floor Balcony facing the stage.

For customers who require a seat, the venue will provide a stool/chair. If you require a seating please email access@alttickets.com or telephone 0115 896 4456 when booking your ticket and on the day notify the receptionist or security on entry who will provide you with one.

Wheelchair Access is available in the downstairs bar and garden via the entrance on Pelham Street. The main venue area is up two flights of stairs.

The Bodega do not have disabled toilet facilities, the only toilets they have are up one flight of stairs for ladies and two for men’s.  Wheelchair users can be given early access and a seat on a slightly raised area at the back of the room (up another 3 steps).

The music at Rough Trade takes place in the main venue / bar area, one Floor One.  Floor one is accessible via a lift from the ground floor.
